We had some early Halloween fun at a local Littleton nursery the other evening. I saw these costumes at HomeGoods and just loved them! I read my kiddos the book and they were hooked. So it didn’t take too much convincing for them to wear these as we explored the nursery. Garden centers are usually so much fun for kids this time of year. They had a pumpkin patch, haunted house, and a corn maze.
I have never really gotten into Halloween. But ever since photography has become my passion I love dressing the kids up. They like it too. So this is a great way to get your children to wear their costumes all year long. I think the key to my success is just letting them play and explore. I rarely ask them to pose. I prefer the candid moments. When I plan a shoot for my little ones, I usually start with the clothes. I usually find great vintage and fun clothes and antique and thrift stores. Once I have the clothes picked out and will choose a location that compliments the theme. You can see another styled shoot here.
I’ve created an Instagram hashtag featuring all of the photos I’ve taken of these cuties getting dressed up. Checkout my instagram feed and search the hashtag #izzyandloudressup, it’s pretty adorable! Also, I am celebrating reaching 3K followers on IG with a giveaway. You can find the details on my Facebook Page. I will be giving away 1 family session (30 minutes, 15 digital files, and print release). So if you are hoping to get the perfect photo of your family for the holidays check it out! It’s not too late to capture your memories among the beautiful fall colors of Colorado!!
